Who I Am:
My name is Sarah Bost and I am a graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. I am a flutist and I have degrees in Music Education (K-12) and French. It is my calling to be a music teacher--I am happiest when conducting great music and teaching vivacious high school students. I will always consider myself a student as well--I firmly believe in learning for a lifetime. My hobbies and interests include travel, reading, intriguing conversations, meeting new people, coffee, being with family and pets, contemplation, and making music in as many ways as possible. Some words I would use to describe myself include hard-working, genuine, creative, inquistive, and "people person." Some major influences in my life include but are not limited to Scott Tobias, James Allen Anderson, Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham, Dawn Perry, David S. Albert, H. Robert Reynolds, Shirley Irek, Patti Digh, and my mom, Malinda Gryder.
What I Believe:
I firmly believe that by sending love and kind actions out into the world, they will be returned. I know from experience that when I want something enough, I can always find or create an opportunity to make it happen. I believe in the importance of finding happiness in the small things in life as well as in the big events. I understand that life is truly an adventure, and that the world is meant to be a playground. I believe that participating in the arts is not a voluntary decision, nor is it a temporary "sejour," but a calling, a passion, and the heart's adamant refusal to do anything else.
I believe in the power of music!
